Șaicã hut is an tiny house welcoming guests that want to spend a few days living the simple life in balance with nature.

Located close to a major bison reintroduction project in southwestern Carpathians, it offers an immersive experience of hiking and bison tracking.

Challenge

Creating a compelling visual language to represent the green values and “back to the roots” mission without loosing it’s heritage.

Naming

Heritage played an crucial role in the name selection. We wanted to promote a real
connection with the grandparents that owned the land and decided to use their family nickname, Șaicã, as the cabin name.The name is a regional term for a small wooden transport raft.

Brand Strategy

The brand promotes environmental values and it’s using every opportunity to educate its audience about environmentally conscious practices and product choices.

Competitor Analysis

Șaicã is part of a network in the area that are sharing the same values and offering diverse accommodation options. An in-depth competitor analysis was conducted but in the area there are only a few other options that are not part of this network and they are not creating brands for themselves.

Outcome

We set out to create a strong brand for a business that values its heritage and uses every touchpoint to bring people closer to nature. One that values its natural resources and appeals to like-minded environmentally conscious customers.

Visual Identity

The main identifier, Șaicã family nickname was hand-drawn and after several iterations we ended up using a simple version where the letter “ã” is connected with the dot on the “i”. We like to think that this fluid shape is
a small hint at Șaicã’s nature oriented values and it’s symbolic for the connection between mankind and nature.
The “connection” symbol is simple but memorable and can serve by itself as a minimalist identifier for the brand, one that can store brand equity and be full of meaning.

Visual Identity

The brand pattern is inspired from topographic marine maps and is a homage to the family nickname’s meaning. (small wooden raft).
The colors selected are supporting the brand narrative and help making it a memorable experience from the first interaction.

Product Design

There was a need to create a few branded materials, hoodies, jars for homemade products that they plan to sell, and some branded bags for transport. We had the chance to test in real-life applications the brand identity created.

Fresh

A brand that conveys green values and embodies the idea of living in balance with nature.

Heritage

We created a brand for Saica that appeals to an active demographic. It feels modern but preserves the heritage specific to the area.

Versatile

We created several logo versions, that can be used and recognized from small to large applications.

Communication materials

We created some reusable templates for communication on major social media platforms and also offline, the client could later personalize these templates to suit their needs. Also, we proposed branding other assets to show the dynamic nature of the new brand.
